Rachel James’ Pear Nova Is Upping The Vegan Nail Polish Game

While many people may have just gotten to know Rachel James from the hit VH1 show Black Ink Crew: Chicago, the girl boss is has long been a force to be reckoned with. She has worked for years in the beauty and fashion industry as a stylist, makeup artist, fashion editor and model and is the founder of her own vegan nail brand Pear Nova.

The vegan-friendly and cruelty free brand has become known for its glorious collection of brown girl-friendly nude gels and lacquers named after influential Black women and other trend-worthy shades with quirky monikers.

The line currently offers six collections that range from trendy nudes, vibrant hues and classic palettes which has earned celebrity fans such as Issa Rae, Zendaya, and Alicia Keys.

“I made sure to formulate a high-quality lacquer that was safe to use both at home and at the salon,” she said in a recent interview.

Individual colors are also available from a collection of 24 lacquers. You can even create your own collection by choosing four shades, selecting two shades plus a top and base coat or mixing and matching as you’d like.
