The global streetwear brand first launched the bag for Black History Month last year, selling out in just hours. And, well, since all of 2020 seems to be on do-over status, the brand is doing its first-ever relaunch for this year’s Black History Month.

“It’s an honor to be able to put an iconic historical figure in American culture on a Sprayground backpack,” said Sprayground owner and creative director David Ben-David in a recent statement. “Harriet Tubman’s activism influenced a great part of American culture and to be able to pay homage to such an amazing leader in our nation’s history during Black History Month is truly a privilege.”
The backpack features a large rendering of Tubman’s portrait that was originally pushed by the Obama administration for a new $20 bill. The Biden Administration has picked up the effort and, if it succeeds, it would be the first bill to feature an African American woman on U.S. currency.
The limited-edition ‘Harriet Tubman’ collection will relaunch exclusively at sprayground.com on Feb. 1 and will be available at select boutiques nationwide during the month. A portion of the proceeds will go to The Tubman Foundation.
