Get Into These Black Fashion Designers’ 2021 Met Gala Creations

Black fashion designers ate up the screen in Gossip Girl’s recent reboot and they are feasting again at New York’s most turned-up night of fashion. The Met Gala 2021, themed “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” was the perfect playground for fashion’s most avant-garde players, including the likes of Christopher Joh Rogers, Sergio Hudson, and Aurora James.

Instead of his usual palette of electric hues and larger-than-life shapes, Rogers teamed up with GG’s lead actress Jordan Alexander to create a more muted, fitted fashion moment. The bald baddie shined in Rogers’ look which featured a nude bustier with green boning and a layered wrapped skirt.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made her fashion debut in a statement looking from Aurora James’ Brother Vellies collection. The off-the-shoulder gown was emblazoned with bright red “Tax the Rich”lettering.
