As women take more control of their health and wellness, the market is seeing a major rise in feminine care. We’re not just talking about a smell-good spray, but products that trade in toxins and fragrances for all-natural ingredients to help balance vaginal pH for an overall happier and healthier “down-there.”

That’s what inspired brand founder Quadesha Halevi to expand her Naked Skin and Body Care into feminine hygiene. As a former OB/GYN medical assistant, she saw and heard women express many of the same concerns related to access to affordable products to help heal, instead of mask, issues.

Halevi wants her “Yoni” collection to be the answer, offering up everything from all-natural cleansing bars and gels to steams, masks, moisturizing balms, and a tongue-in-cheek Pussc Batter. It even has a “Sweet Cookie” test to check your pH levels.

“Being front and center of every female concern inspired me to want to help naturally and [help women] build back their confidence,” the now full-time entrepreneur told Sadiaa Black Beauty Guide. “I know what to expect when it comes to vaginal health…the do’s and don’ts.”

She also drops gems on the brand’s social media feed, sharing that vaginal healthcare is more than smelling good. It’s supporting microbiome, sexual health/love, hormonal balance, cleansing the vulva, and, most importantly, pH balance.

While Yoni is now her top-selling collection, Halevi shares she first launched her brand to find natural ways to address her own skin issues.

“I was always obsessed with researching different skincare remedies to try on my skin,” she said. Her grandfather in Ghana used to ship her oils and herbal remedies for her to mix up at home. “They worked and I wanted to share with others in hopes of them gaining the same experience.”

Now she offers up a suite of products for her customers to achieve whole-body balance, from the inside out. This includes vegan pre/probiotics, facial cleansers, serums, oils, and exfoliators. She also offers 100% charcoal sanitary pads free of chemicals, dyes, or fragrances.

“Naked is not just a brand,” she said. “It’s a lifestyle. It represents the standard that we’ve been stripped of — being yourself and… being secure in the skin you’re in.”

Now in it its second year, Halevi admits launching her own business in the midst of a pandemic was not without its challenges — including what she calls “rushing success.”

“I was spending money so fast because I saw the future for my brand before my pockets saw the future!” she said. “Don’t get me wrong — you have to spend money to make money. But spending it wisely is crucial. I had to learn to remain patient and trust the process. That’s a part of a successful business.”

And now, she is looking toward the future and helping her customers celebrate their inner and outer beauty. And that starts with “trusting God and giving my full focus to take my brand to the next level,” said Halevi.
