Fashion brand Hanifa just introduced us to the future of fashion with a groundbreaking 3D virtual fashion show. Designer Anifa Mvuemba debuted the eight-piece Pink Label Congo collection on Instagram Friday featuring silhouettes of models of all shapes and sizes strutting down the virtual runway.

Anifa created the collection — and magical presentation — to celebrate the beauty of her hometown Democratic Republic of Congo. The ribbed backless minidress featured a colorway using her country’s flag colors, along with a denim jumpsuit with a peplum hem, asymmetrical cut-out tops and a floor-grazing silk gown.

“I want these pieces to tell a story of meaning,” Anifa told Teen Vogue in a recent interview. “I want them to remind us to be intentional about what we create. Not for clout or for Instagram likes, but for the sake of meaning what we say by storytelling through our designs.”

While Anifa Mvuemba had already been using 3D mockups during sample-making process, restrictions due to the pandemic inspired her to push the envelope.

“Designing content using 3D models and now an entire collection has been a complete game changer for me,” said Anifa.

The Instagram Live presentation also featured a short documentary highlighting conditions within her country, including how women and children are impacted by illegal mining conditions.

The full collection is available now on Hanifa.co. The pieces retail from $115 to $499 and come in sizes XS to 2XL.
