Men’s grooming brand Bevel just launched a new campaign serving up the ultimate love letter to Black men. “Created For Kings” kicked off with a 30-second short narrated by New York Times best-selling author and NAACP Image Award Winner, Jason Reynolds, celebrating the greatness of Black men with the overarching message that “we see you.”
“Dear Black man, we see you doing your best every day to survive. To thrive despite the challenges you face… Trying to succeed in a world that doesn’t always recognize your greatness… We are here to support you, uplift you, help you show up at your best every day, and remind you that you are a King...
The visuals complement the message with uplifting images of of Black men from all walks of life – fathers, husbands, partners, entrepreneurs, and workers — being great.

The new segment was produced by Black-owned and operated Creative Theory, which recently named one of Ad Age “Agency of the Year” winners.
“As an agency, we work with brands who see value in our community,” said Creative Theory co-founder Gary Williams, Jr. in a press statement. “Bevel has been one of the brands since the beginning who came with real perspective, understanding, and attention to the Black male experience.”
Bevel, a Black-founded and Black-led company, has gained renown for its continued to commitment to showcase and celebrate Black men and provide educational and mental health resources to underserved communities.
“Bevel takes great pride in playing a lead role in shaping the narrative around Black men,” said Tia Cummings, VP of Marketing for Bevel’s parent company, Walker and Company, who wrote the script. “It is our hope that this campaign will help drive a greater appreciation for the diversity, strength, and beauty of Black men, and serve as a point of pride for the Black community as a whole.”
