Heat is typically a deal-breaker for healthy hair — except when it comes to getting in a good deep condition. Adding heat to your conditioning process opens up the hair cuticle, taking your moisturizing treatment from 0 to 100, real quick.
Well, we just got introduced to the Hot Head, a thermal cap that combines the heat of a dryer with the power of a cap to give you a salon quality treatment at home. The handmade quilted cloth cap is made of all-natural materials and packed with heat-producing flaxseeds.

This Black-owned offering was founded by Sandra Snell, a professional hairstylist, who recognized the need of a deep conditioner but, a busy new mom, had no time to be tethered to a cord. “Sitting under a hooded dryer was no longer an option,” she said. After using the cumbersome method of wrapping a warm wet towel around her hair, she said she had an “‘aha’ moment” and the Hot Head was born.
The caps are heated via microwave, so you don’t have to be tied down to a cord or a plug. We heated ours for a couple of minutes and got a solid 30 minutes of treatment time. And, it works with whatever treatments you already use. So, grab your favorite conditioning treatment, oil or masque and elevate your conditioning game.
