Melissa Butler is making beauty boss moves with The Lip Bar brand.

Melissa Butler has come a long way since she first launched here lip cosmetics line, The Lip Bar. The former Wall Street financier made history last year as the first Black-owned vegan brand sold at Target. And earlier, this year, she opened the brand’s first retail location in Detroit!
According to the Michigan Chronicle, the CEO is excited to bring a beauty outlet to her hometown.
“I’m happy we are finally creating some retail here in the city,” said Butler, who attended Cass Tech. “There’s no reason we should have to drive all the way to Somerset (Mall) to get high-quality products, especially makeup. I’m happy to be making my mark.”
