After announcing its plans to launch a $1M Community Commerce fund for small minority-owned businesses impacted by the global pandemic, the SheaMoisture Fund is now officially active — and accepting applications.

The $1M relief fund is broken down into several different grant opportunities, along with e-learning labs to help businesses get the support they need to keep their doors open.

Unsung Business Award – $100K
The first $100K of funds from the Community Commerce Fund will be awarded to small minority businesses that have already been stepping up to support their communities during this global pandemic. If you and your team on the frontlines, providing healthcare or community services, this is the first grant you should apply for.
It is open to all women of color entrepreneurs and minority business owners (including restaurants, hospitality, grooming, wellness instructors, etc.).

Black Business Relief Fund – $100K
In partnership with BuyBlack.com, SheaMoisture has launched this fund to provide critical grant support to Black-owned businesses that have been operating for at least two years.

Women of Color eLab
SheaMoisture has also launched an online entrepreneurial learning platform designed to help women create a recovery plan by accessing education, resources, mentorship, and advice on how to prepare for the economic downturn. Those who successfully complete their eHub coursework will be able to pitch their recovery plan for funding.
