Stylists are on the fence about this as a trend, but they agree that being able to lay your baby hairs means you actually have edges to lay! With protective styles and (good) lace fronts, “people are growing their edges back and are really loving to play with their baby hair now,” notes JStayReady.

“Everybody wants a good little ‘swoop de doop’ on the side of their forehead. It’s a vibe. Normani loves her baby hair. Saweetie IS baby hair. I mean, it’s not a style if her baby hair ain’t out,” he adds. 

But, we’re not talking swirls for swirls’ sake, all up and down the side of your face and neck. We’re looking for more subdued and realistic finishing with actual baby hairs. Think: “artistic strands on the face,” says Yusef.
