Celebrity hairstylist and educator Keya Neal has launched a new foundation and community group for stylists impacted by COVID-19. Kolours of Kovid Foundation is designed to connect stylists in need of help and those who have the resources to help.
Neal recently recovered from the coronavirus after a lengthy hospital stay with family and friends rallying around her in support of both her health and finances. Her experience and ongoing recovery have inspired her to connect other stylists who don’t have access to similar support systems with resources.

“So many of you came to me with your story, about how you are STILL silently struggling as your body recovers from the wrath of this virus, just as I was,” wrote Neal on Instagram. “And yet, you don’t ask for help because you don’t know how or who to ask. As a community healer and leader, I could not allow this to continue to happen. The love and support shown to me let me know that great people are out there. I was called to connect others who may be in the same situation with amazing humans like you.”
The Kolour of Kovid Foundation, which now serves as the nonprofit arm of Neal’s The Kolour Kulture, is designed to provide resources, information, emotional support, and a safe space for stylists and beauty pros impacted by and recovering from COVID-19.
“I want us to be able to have somewhere to go without judgment to ask for help,” she added. “The shame, stigma, and unfamiliarity around it cause far too many people to suffer in silence when we could help one another. Information is the gateway to empathy and compassion.”
