Broward County Black Chamber of Commerce has just announced a new grant program for local Black-owned businesses impacted by COVID-19.

The South Florida county is one of the three counties that make up the Miami metropolitan area. The grant program, which is funded by Fiserv, will award small, for-profit Black-owned businesses up to $10K in financial support.

“For Fiserv to step up in a time when help has stalled on the federal, state, and local levels for small businesses, is huge,” said the chamber’s president Shaheewa Jarrett Gelin, Esq. in a press statement. “I haven’t heard of any other large corporations giving back locally on this scale to Black-run organizations,” she notes.
