Earlier this year, Kohl’s announced that it was tripling the number of Sephora at Kohl’s shops throughout 2022. More than 400 new shops are opening their doors in 36 states (including eight new states). As part of the launch, Sephora and ambassadors from several of its store brands have been on tour across the country to celebrate their grand openings with special VIP events.
Their most recent invite-only event took place in Irving, TX on Monday (Aug. 8) with content creators traveling from all over the state to attend. The celebration included a custom pop-up installation primed for selfies along with beauty conversations led by brand experts from Rare Beauty, Maison Margiela, Laura Mercier, Moroccanoil, and NARS.

“This was such an amazing opportunity to be able to connect with some of my favorite brands today and learn about the products that are trending this summer,” shared Tanya Marie, beauty and lifestyle content creator and founder of Life of Tanya Marie, via Instagram.
The first 200 stores opened just last fall, with Sephora the sexy to the Kohl’s locations. Each shop features 2,500 square feet of beauty brands and must-haves designed to look and feel like freestanding Sephora locations. The shops are also positioned near the front door with their own store-front signage, making it more enticing for beauty lovers who might not ordinarily plan a run to Kohl’s. It’s also helping to bring a younger and more diverse customer base.
The offerings at the Irving location reflected that diversity with a wide range of shades for deeper hues on the shelves and beauty associates who could properly answer and assist with color-matching questions.
Of course, we chatted it up with experts to get more intel on the beauty finds. They gushed about their brand’s key offerings while serving up key tips on everything from picking the right fragrance to achieving the perfect mascara application.
