Black women face the highest maternal mortality and complication rates in the U.S. and are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than White women. Carol’s Daughter is stepping up to help close the gap with its Black maternal health initiative, “Love Delivered.”
Created by founder Lisa Price in partnership with Mama Glow, “Love Delivered” works to decrease the disparity gap by empowering, supporting, and equipping Black women with expanded access to doula services, resources, and allies.

Its latest efforts include a three-fold launch with Mama Glow Foundation to produce up to 20 families with doula services and help advance reproductive justice and birth equity. The brand has committed $10K and will donate up to an additional $5K as part of a grant-matching social media initiative.
In addition, Carol’s Daughter has also committed to providing pro bono doula services for an additional 10 BIPOC families in need via online application. Families living in New York (Metro Area), Washington D.C., Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles can apply by December 4 for the Winter 2023 grant cycle.
“As we look to the holiday season, it’s so important to give back to those in need,” said Price. “That’s why, for the second year in a row, we will be supporting and advocating for Black birthing people with resources and doula services and are calling on our community to join us.”
Mama Glow Foundation has also curated a free digital guide for expectant mothers. The 60-page “Birthing While Black Prep-Guide,” offers up tips and tools for Black birthing people and families to navigate their care options during pregnancy, birth and beyond.
