The icon left no feather unruffled while giving a masterclass in Black Dandyism.

Diana Ross doesn’t just attend events—she anoints them. After a two-decade absence, the original diva descended upon the 2025 Met Gala draped in 18 feet of feathered glory and cultural legacy. She hasn’t graced the Met Gala since 2003, but last night she reminded us exactly why she’s legendary.

Ross took us straight back to the 1920s and ’30s and gave us a masterclass in Black Dandyism. The fitted, floor-length glittery gown was giving. The feathered, glittery hat? A moment. And, what really sealed the deal was that massive shawl —carried by six people, because of course it was.

Styled by Nigerian fashion designer Ugo Mozie, the show-stopping feathered shawl featured the names of her kids and grandkids embroidered into it.

Mozie, owner of Eleven Sixteen, is is no stranger to iconic lookslook. He launched his first fashion line, Aston Mozie, at just 18 years old in 2019. Since then, he’s dressed Beyoncé, Travis Scott,  J. Balvin and also crafted Blue Ivy’s custom look during the Cowboy Carter tour’s “Déjà Vu” breakdown.

Ross was joined by her son Evan, who convinced her to show up while on tour. “There was not a plan… my son persuaded me,” she told People.

Diana Ross would’ve scored nothing but 10s across the board if Fashion Police were still around. But let’s be real—she didn’t need a score then — or now.  She was the standard.
