Black Beauty Pros To Teach Master Classes For Stylists To Properly Do Our Hair & Makeup

The classes kick off August 10-14.

We continue to hear the drama of hair and makeup fails by hairstylists and makeup artists brought on set to style Black and Brown bodies. The makeup is ashy or oxidized to the wrong damn color. The model or actress with kinky curls (or any texture whatsoever) got her hair fried straight and burned off and is now forced to rock a lace front.

Now, hairstylists and makeup artists needing to level up their skills can tune into a five-day learning event dedicated to getting it right. Presented by Support Creatives, BIPOC Beauty School Marathon will feature 20 of the industry’s top beauty pros teaching master classes on such topics as “Texture On Set,” “Nude Makeup For Women Of Color,” “Lace Front Wig Application,” and “Shaping the Eyes.”

Featured experts include celebrity hairstylists Larry Sims (Gabrielle Union), Kendall Dorsey (Solange), and Tym Wallace (Taraji P. Henson), along with beauty heavyweights Danessa Myricks and Michela Wariebi (Beyoncé). Michale Dueñas, Support Creative co-founder and celeb hairstylist will moderate the event

BIPOC Beauty School Marathon takes place from August 10 to 14, Four 60- to 120-minute classes will be hosted each day and will be filmed live. There is a $20+ donation per class. There are also All-Access Passes starting at $200 for all hair classes and $220 for makeup classes.
