SheaMoisture and BROWN GIRL Jane Just Launched #BrownGirlSwap $250K Grant Fund

SheaMoisture and BROWN GIRL Jane have just teamed up to give us our beauty lives — and coins to support your beauty ventures. BROWN GIRL Jane has expanded its #BrownGirlSwap initiative with a $250K grant fund and mentoring opportunities with SheaMoisture and Unilever leadership.

“Our partnership with BROWN GIRL Jane comes from our shared mission to support and uplift Black-owned businesses,” said Cara Sabin, SheaMoisture CEO, in a recent press release. “We are inspired by the brand’s three dynamic founders and are honored to partner with industry peers and continue SheaMoisture’s mission of reinvesting in our communities.”
BROWN GIRL Jane, which sells CBD-infused wellness products, kicked off in June to promote beauty buyers to replace five of their fave beauty products with offerings from Black women-owned brands.
“We are so proud to work alongside SheaMoisture to enhance the #BrownGirlSwap,” said Malaika Jones Kebede, BROWN GIRL Jane CEO, in the release. “Enduring change requires an evergreen, multifaceted program to begin creating equity in this industry.”
The expanded partnership and initiative will also include hosting a virtual Black Beauty & Business Summit business boot camp this September, offering marketing exposure for selected brands, and presenting a semester-long paid internship program next year.
“This collaboration will bolster and create space for so many emerging brands and, in turn, do far more than cutting a check,” said Tai Beauchamp, BROWN GIRL Jane Chief Brand Officer.
