Mielle Organics is looking to stay in all of the haircare conversations this month. Just days after announcing its Harlem “bundles” collaboration, the brand is pulling up with an Avocado & Tamanu Anti-Frizz System designed specifically for textured hair. Like my sis says, “Prepare to be sick of me!”
It marks the Black-founded and led beauty brand’s (see notes here) first collection designed specifically to address frizz issues caused by dry, brittle and damaged hair. The groundbreaking five-piece collection is formulated with a proprietary “cold application technology” which taps into the power of “cold” to help seal and smooth the cuticle.

Cold temps have long been used as a finishing step in the salon — from the cool rinse or the cold air blast on your blowdryer. In addition to shampoo and conditioner, the brand offers up a Leave-In, Curl Perfector, and Stay Straight Serum which utilize a “refrigerate-to-activate” technology to close hair cuticles to block out humidity on both curly and straight hair.
The collection also packs the power of avocados, known for moisturizing vitamins, and minerals like potassium and magnesium to help seal the hair cuticle, and tamanu oil, a Polynesian beauty staple with its alpha-linoleic, oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids to heal and nourish hair follicles.
“Finding new, innovative and effective ingredients for textured hair has always been a passion of mine,” said Monique Rodriguez, Mielle Organics CEO and Founder. “We have been researching the combination of avocado and tamanu for some time now, considering their incredible benefits for beauty use… We are not only bringing them to the forefront of haircare, but also fusing avocado and tamanu with our proprietary refrigerate-to-activate Cold Application Technology™. It’s the perfect marriage of science and nature.”
The Avocado & Tamanu Anti-Frizz System currently retails for $45 and is available online at MielleOrganics.com, as well as at Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Sally Beauty, and H-E-B stores.
