Stop Your Braids From Itching

Before you get your next braided ‘do or protective style, soak your synthetic extensions in a mix of one part ACV to three parts water for at least 15 minutes. The mix will lift the alkaline base from the hair that often irritates the skin and causes an itchy scalp.

Once you see the white film floating at the surface, rinse the hair and follow up with a quick shampoo rise. Once it dries, the smell will be gone — and your scalp will thank you!

Make Those “Dandruff Flakes Disappear

Real talk, those large dandruff flakes that are plaguing your scalp may not even be dandruff. True dandruff flakes are typically small and indicate dry skin. But, if you’ve got large “dino” flakes that are moist underneath, you are probably dealing with seborrheic dermatitis or some other fungal or bacterial issue.

That’s where apple cider vinegar comes in. Not only can its antibacterial and antifungal properties address those issues, it can also help balance out your hair pH levels to keep them from reoccurring. To use, simply pour an equal mix of water and ACV onto the scalp for up to two hours either as a pre-wash or post-wash. Rinse and style as usual.
