Barefoot Wine Launches $75K Beauty Grant Initiative For Black Women

The wine company’s #WeStanForHer program is celebrating the power of Black women.

Brands are continuing to pull up to the conversation of supporting Black women and beauty. Barefoot Wine is the latest to toast up the fastest growing entrepreneurial demographic in the country.

The largest wine brand in the world has partnered with New Voices Fund (NVF) to launch its #WeStanForHer initiative to spotlight the role beauty plays in self-care and economic development. The initiative includes $75K in grants, a new discussion series highlighting the collective beauty and power of Black women, and coaching and mentoring opportunities.

COVID-19 Business Recovery Grant — $25K

This grant program will award 25 grants of $1,000 each to provide COVID-19 business recovery assistance for Black women-owned hair salons affected by the recent shutdowns.

Barefoot Beauty Grant — $50K

This grant program is designed to acknowledge and celebrate the ways in which brands work to highlight the beauty of Black women. Five Black women-owned beauty businesses will be awarded $10,000 each. Recipients will also receive business coaching and mentorship resources.

“We Stan For Her” Conversation Series

In addition, Barefoot will produce an original conversation series to discuss and celebrate beauty, self-expression and sisterhood. The show, “We Stan For Her,” is slated to launch later this year and will feature a mix of influential Black women from various industries.

“Barefoot is committed to listening to and amplifying the voices of Black women, and we are proud to launch We Stan for Her to encourage important conversations and celebrate authentic experiences,” said Shannon Armah, marketing strategist lead for Barefoot, in a recent statement. “Through our partnership with the New Voices Foundation, we will continue our support and highlight the community, making an impact on businesses led by Black women.”

“With Barefoot’s support, we can continue to make investments in women of color entrepreneurs through our PACE (Purpose.Access.Capital.Expertise) model with targeted learning, coaching and mentoring opportunities for their businesses,” said Richelyna Hall, director of New Voices Foundation.
