Black-owned nail polish brand Pear Nova is introducing its first nail polish remover. The Refresh Soy Remover follows its mantra of nontoxic and vegan offerings with a soy-based, non-acetone formula designed to nourish and protect nails (and skin).

Pear Nova’s Refresh is infused with vitamins A, D and E, along with jojoba and tea tree oils to nourish and soothe cuticles. Tea tree is also known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties to help prevent nail fungus and other infections.

Soy-based polish removers have increasingly become a go-to for nail care to avoid the drying, damaging effects of acetone, and other harsh chemicals. The remover is a logical next step for the brand which offers several collections of 10-free, vegan nail lacquers and gels, along with other at-home spa essentials, including hand and foot soaks, scrubs, and butters.

Pear Nova Refresh retails for $17.50 and will be available beginning Aug. 24. To celebrate the launch, the brand will include a free bottle of its Growth Green Tea Cuticle Oil with Refresh purchase through Aug. 31.
