Everything about Parton’s beauty choices rejected the idea that women should make themselves smaller. Her hair was high, her clothes sparkled and her presence filled every room she entered.

She was repeatedly told that her appearance was too cheap, too revealing and simply too much. Instead of toning herself down, she made “too much” her calling card.

Parton reminded us that taking up space is not a flaw. Sometimes, being unforgettable begins with refusing to shrink.
